Movies and Life

I went to see The Chronicles of Narnia with my two cousins, Brittany and Amber, tonight. Awesome movie. I honestly didn’t think I would like it (judging from the previews), but the story is told perfectly. The symbolism is what really drew me into the movie. I’m not the best movie reviewer, but this is one I’ll want to watch over and over again (largly because of the symbolism). We went to Wendy’s after the movie … I feel sick now.

Last night I went “shopping” (or something like that) with my aunt and my mom. We found a womans wallet in the road (the middle of the road). She’s going to try to get it back to the lady. It had everything of hers in it though, even her social security card. Scary stuff if it was stolen.

On other notes, the power went off tonight. This ended my servers 230 day uptime streak. Over a half a year uptime, no restart or anything. The UPS held up for about 30 minutes though, I was surprised. The UPS for my computer is supposed to be better and it was dying quickly (even on this low power LCD). It probably wouldn’t last 10 minutes. The other battery is replacable too, mine isn’t. Oh well. My computer doesn’t need to be one for 30 minutes, the server does. Since it went out I blew all the dust out of it with the air tank we have.

When I got home I got on the computer for a few minutes, and then went to turn up the heat because it was cold down here, it had dropped down to 64 (and the thermostat resets to 64), so I was a bit cold for a reason. I think I turned it up to like 69. I keep it between 68 and 69.

I guess I’m going to get me a big cup of cold milk and some nice cool chocolate and then hit the bed.

  2. I have waited for YEARS for this movie to come out. Back in 7th grade when I read all the books, my father and I discussed how they’d make awesome movies if a big company, like Disney, made them and followed the books. Well sometime around 2001 I heard on the christian radio station that Disney was going to be making The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and realeasing it in 2005. So yeah, I’d pretty much waited 4 (or more) years for it to come out.

Needless to say, I went to the midnight showing with my parents. It really was a great movie, and I was very impressed by the way they did it, although I was a little sad that some of the dialogue out of the books was missing. Sadly, I didn’t get to enjoy it as much as I could have, because people in the theater were being stupid….but other than that, it was awesome, and I can’t wait to go see it again! 😀
